| CVE-2026-98377 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vlan: require the MAC header to be present in __vlan_insert_inner_tag() __vlan_insert_inner_tag() only guarantees head room via skb_cow_head(), never that mac_len bytes of MAC header are present. Its ETH_HLEN wrappers - __vlan_insert_tag() under skb_vlan_push(), and vlan_insert_tag() under validate_xmit_vlan() on the generic transmit path - therefore rewrite the first 16 bytes at skb->data: a 12-byte memmove plus two 2-byte stores at +12 and +14. No caller supplies the bound, while the pop helpers use skb_ensure_writable()/pskb_may_pull(). An IFF_TUN device has hard_header_len == 0, so packet_snd() accepts a one-byte AF_PACKET/SOCK_RAW frame. The first vlan push only sets a hwaccel tag; the next - clsact "action vlan push" or bpf_skb_vlan_push() - enters the helper with skb->len still 1. The head comes from skbuff_small_head without __GFP_ZERO, so each push drags bytes from beyond skb->tail into the frame. After three the one-byte send leaves as 13 bytes carrying 11 bytes of uninitialised slab: 0000: 5a b3 62 12 80 88 ff ff 00 b3 62 12 81 `------------------------------' only 0x5a was sent; the rest is slab, here the top 56 bits of a linear-map address Require the MAC header the helper rewrites to be present, so such a frame is dropped rather than transmitted. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98375 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/netfront: drop RX packets with a short Ethernet header handle_incoming_queue() pulls pull_to bytes into the head before calling eth_type_trans(). pull_to is the length of the first RX slot, capped at RX_COPY_THRESHOLD, and that length comes from the backend. Nothing checks it against ETH_HLEN. If the first slot is shorter than ETH_HLEN and more slots follow, the head ends up shorter than an Ethernet header while skb->len is longer, and eth_type_trans() BUG()s in __skb_pull(). If the whole packet is shorter than ETH_HLEN, eth_type_trans() reads the header past the end of the data instead. Pull at least ETH_HLEN, and drop the packet if that fails, which also drops packets too short to hold an Ethernet header. This also checks the return value of the pull, which was ignored. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libipw: reject TKIP frames without a full MIC libipw_michael_mic_verify() assumes that an skb contains an eight-byte Michael MIC. A short TKIP frame makes the unsigned payload length wrap, causing michael_mic() to read past the skb. Check that the MIC is present before verifying it, and use the existing MICHAEL_MIC_LEN constant for all MIC lengths in the verifier. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98171 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix next_buffer UAF and NextCommand bounds in compound PDUs Fix several related bounds checking and pointer lifecycle issues in receive_encrypted_standard()'s handling of compound encrypted frames: - Clear next_buffer after assigning it to server->bigbuf. A stale next_buffer pointer can lead to a use-after-free on subsequent error paths. - Update pdu_length to the decrypted plaintext size (buf_size). Using the pre-decryption length allows NextCommand to point into stale ciphertext residue. - Reject next_cmd values smaller than MID_HEADER_SIZE(server). - Fix an integer overflow in the upper bound check by verifying pdu_length - next_cmd < MID_HEADER_SIZE(server), ensuring the trailing slice is large enough for a header. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98170 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix OOB struct field reads in move_smb2_ea_to_cifs() In move_smb2_ea_to_cifs(), the while (src_size > 0) loop condition is insufficient. It allows iteration to continue even if the remaining src_size is too small to contain a complete smb2_ea_info structure. Consequently, reads of ea_name_length and ea_value_length can occur out-of-bounds. Fix this by ensuring src_size >= sizeof(*src) before attempting to read any structure fields. Additionally, reject any next_entry_offset that is smaller than sizeof(*src) or that would advance the pointer beyond the available buffer. Note that for calls where the server returns a malformed EA list, the error returned to userspace changes from -ENODATA (getxattr) or -ERANGE (listxattr) to -EIO. This correctly signals a server protocol error rather than misleadingly indicating "attribute not present" or "output buffer too small". | ||||
| CVE-2026-98169 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 7.1 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix potential OOB read in smb3_enum_snapshots() If snapshot_array_size is smaller than GMT_TOKEN_SIZE, smb3_enum_snapshots() sets ret_data_len to sizeof(struct smb_snapshot_array) without verifying the actual length of the server's reply. Because SMB2_ioctl() places no lower bound on the server-supplied OutputCount and allocates retbuf to exactly that length, a short reply results in ret_data_len exceeding the size of retbuf. The subsequent copy_to_user() then reads past the end of retbuf, leaking adjacent slab memory to userspace. The subsequent clamp check is ineffective as it only reduces ret_data_len. Fix this by rejecting replies shorter than sizeof(struct smb_snapshot_array) with -EIO. Note that the bound is set to the 12-byte struct size rather than the 16-byte MIN_SNAPSHOT_ARRAY_SIZE defined in MS-SMB2 3.3.5.15.1, because 12 bytes is exactly what copy_to_user() attempts to read. | ||||
| CVE-2026-97587 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf: RISC-V: store available counter mask as bitmap The available-counter mask was a single unsigned long, but iteration uses RISCV_MAX_COUNTERS, which is 64. On RV32 that reads past the object. Filling with an unsigned-long bit at index 32 and above is also wrong. Use DECLARE_BITMAP and set_bit/bitmap helpers. Walk each bitmap word into CFG_MATCH when checking events, when allocating an index, and when stopping all counters. Set the counter base to i times BITS_PER_LONG. Share the CFG_MATCH ecall through a small helper so the 32-bit argument split is not duplicated. On qemu-system-riscv32 the probe bitmap has bits above XLEN set, so the first word alone is not enough. [[email protected]: updated to apply; fixed checkpatch.pl issues] | ||||
| CVE-2026-97529 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Validate BSG request_len before reading vendor_cmd[] The FC BSG transport allocates job->request via memdup_user() using the exact user-supplied request_len. For FC_BSG_HST_VENDOR, fc_bsg_host_dispatch() only guarantees request_len covers msgcode and vendor_id; it does not account for the vendor_cmd[] flexible array. qla2xxx then reads the command selector vendor_cmd[0] and, in several sub-handlers, vendor_cmd[1]/[2] or structures overlaid on the vendor command area without verifying request_len. A caller holding CAP_SYS_RAWIO can submit a short request whose vendor_id matches the host, triggering out-of-bounds heap reads (KASAN-detectable, and able to mis-select a command or panic). Add a central guard in qla2x00_process_vendor_specific() so the selector is always in bounds, restrict the early vendor_cmd[0] read in qla24xx_bsg_request() to sufficiently long vendor messages, and add request_len checks to the sub-handlers that read further: qla24xx_proc_fcp_prio_cfg_cmd(), qla2x00_process_loopback(), qla84xx_reset(), qla84xx_updatefw(), qla2x00_read_optrom(), qla2x00_update_optrom(), qlafx00_mgmt_cmd() and qla28xx_validate_flash_image(). | ||||
| CVE-2026-97505 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI/sysfs: Add CAP_SYS_ADMIN check to __resource_resize_store() Currently, the __resource_resize_store() allows writing to the resourceN_resize sysfs attribute to change a BAR's size without checking for capabilities, currently relying only on the file access check. Resizing a BAR modifies PCI device configuration and can disrupt active drivers. After the upcoming conversion to static attributes, it will also trigger resource file updates via sysfs_update_groups(). Add a CAP_SYS_ADMIN check to prevent unprivileged users from performing BAR resize operations. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: rtw89: phy: check length before parsing PHY status IE Hardware might report PHY status IE with unexpected length, and parser might access out of range. Check the length ahead. | ||||
| CVE-2026-97494 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: validate and share PSP fw_pri_buf copies via psp_copy_fw Change psp_copy_fw from void to int: return -ENODEV when drm_dev_enter fails, and -EINVAL when the image size is zero or larger than the 1 MiB PSP private buffer. Replace open-coded memset/memcpy into fw_pri_buf with psp_copy_fw. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix buffer overflow during vBIOS update Clamp the buffer postion to write by setting the bin attribute to the maximum buffer size so that VFS layer will block the out-of-bounds accessing. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93793 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: validate TX_CMD response layout TX_CMD parsing uses frame_count to walk status entries and then read the trailing SCD SSN. Make the minimum-length check follow that exact runtime layout calculation before parsing the payload. For new TX API, reject TX_CMD responses with frame_count != 1 and warn/return in the aggregation handler to document that aggregated accounting is expected via BA notifications. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93791 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: add a check on the tid coming from the firmware ba_notif->tid is a firmware-controlled u8 that is used directly as an array index into tid_data[] without any validation. Add a bounds check against IWL_MAX_TID_COUNT before dereferencing the array. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93272 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: remoteproc: qcom_wcnss: Fix handling the lack of PD regulators in v3 The changes introduced to handle single power domain platforms have swapped the info pointer increment from num_pd_vregs to num_pds, which would shift the info pointer past the end of the array for pronto-v3, which does not list power domain regulators in vregs. This showed up as a difference between GCC- and LLVM-compiled kernels on SDM632 devices, where only with LLVM one would get the "regulator request with no identifier" error, because the out-of-bounds memory ended up being zeroed. Fix by skipping the increment when there are more power domains than regulators. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93155 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: keembay - Fix AEAD unregister count in error path register_aes_algs() registers the AEAD algorithms before registering the skcipher algorithms. If skcipher registration fails, the function unwinds the earlier AEAD registration with crypto_engine_unregister_aeads(), but it passes ARRAY_SIZE(algs), which is the skcipher table size. Use ARRAY_SIZE(algs_aead) for the AEAD unwind path so the unregister helper iterates over the same table that was registered. Also clarify the nearby comment: the crypto registration helpers clean up algorithms registered within the same call, while this function must still unwind earlier successful registration steps. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93129 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: dell-wmi-base: Fix handling of ultra performance key The commit message of commit 5fbd827eb9c2 ("platform/x86: dell-wmi: Recognise or support new switches") states that the ultra performance key contains additional data after the type and code fields. The event data passed to dell_wmi_process_key() is already parsed, so "buffer" already starts after those two fields. Use the correct index for accessing the first data field to avoid a potential buffer overread. | ||||
| CVE-2026-92480 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: ufs: core: Validate string descriptors The string descriptor length includes a two-byte header while the UTF-16 payload starts after it. utf16s_to_utf8s() expects a count of UTF-16 code units, not bytes. Passing the payload byte count can make it read beyond the descriptor buffer. Validate that the payload has an even byte count, pass a code-unit count to the converter, and allocate sufficient UTF-8 output space. The raw string buffer starts after the descriptor header but its size is bLength. Copying bLength bytes from that pointer can read beyond the response buffer. Allocate a zeroed bLength-sized buffer and copy only the UTF-16 payload. This preserves the raw buffer size consumed by the RPMB device-ID ABI while avoiding the overread. | ||||
| CVE-2026-90407 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 7.7 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix overreads in ath11k_wmi_process_csa_switch_count_event() There is no policy entry for WMI_TAG_PDEV_CSA_SWITCH_COUNT_STATUS_EVENT, so the parse infrastructure does not enforce a minimum length for the event struct. Additionally, the num_vdevs field is taken directly from firmware and used as a loop bound over the vdev_ids array without checking that it fits within the TLV payload. Either condition can cause an out-of-bounds read. Add a TLV policy entry for WMI_TAG_PDEV_CSA_SWITCH_COUNT_STATUS_EVENT so the parse infrastructure enforces a minimum length for the fixed-size event struct. Add a helper ath11k_wmi_tlv_data_len() to recover the payload length of a parsed TLV from the header preceding its data pointer. Use it in ath11k_wmi_process_csa_switch_count_event() to bound num_vdevs before the loop. Compile tested only. | ||||
| CVE-2026-90398 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 8.4 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix stride mismatch in mac_phy_caps_parse() Currently, in ath11k_wmi_tlv_mac_phy_caps_parse(), kcalloc() sizes the mac_phy_caps buffer as tot_phy_id * len, where len is clamped to min(firmware_len, sizeof(struct wmi_mac_phy_capabilities)). The subsequent memcpy() destination advances by sizeof(full struct) per slot via C pointer arithmetic, not by the clamped len. When firmware sends short TLVs, the second and later slots are written past the end of the allocation. The reader in ath11k_pull_mac_phy_cap_svc_ready_ext() also indexes the buffer with full-struct pointer arithmetic, so the allocation must match that stride. Fix by using kzalloc_objs(), which derives the element size from the pointer type, making allocation size and pointer stride provably consistent regardless of what len the firmware provides. Compile tested only. | ||||
