CVE-2026-98741 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: ua101: reject mismatched capture/playback packet sizes detect_usb_format() cross-checks bSubframeSize, bBitResolution and tSamFreq between the capture and playback interfaces, but never relates the two endpoints' wMaxPacketSize and bNrChannels. Each playback URB gets a buffer of ua->playback.max_packet_bytes, while the number of bytes written into it is derived from the capture stream: capture_urb_complete() computes frames from the received capture packet and capture.frame_bytes, and start_usb_playback() and playback_work() multiply that by playback.frame_bytes. A device declaring a large capture wMaxPacketSize with few capture channels and a small playback wMaxPacketSize with many playback channels therefore memset()s and memcpy()s past the end of the playback buffer, in open() of the PCM node the driver registers during probe. usb_submit_urb() rejects the over-long iso_frame_desc[0].length with -EMSGSIZE, but only after the write. Reject such descriptors at probe time. Genuine UA-101/UA-1000 hardware declares proportional packet sizes and is unaffected. CVE-2026-98726 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-multipath: fix underflow in ANA log bounds checks The number of ANA groups advertised through Identify Controller sizes the ANA log buffer. The ANA log header and group descriptors independently supply the number of groups and namespace IDs to parse. Both bounds checks subtract an untrusted object size from ana_log_size before comparing the current offset. If the object is larger than the buffer, the size_t subtraction underflows and lets the parser read beyond ana_log_buf. Check the current offset before the first subtraction and compare each object size with the remaining buffer instead. This rejects inconsistent ANA data before dereferencing a truncated group descriptor or walking an oversized namespace ID array.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-auth: fix out-of-bounds write in nvmet_auth_challenge() nvmet_auth_challenge() receives its output buffer as a void pointer. sizeof(*d) therefore evaluates to one with GCC and undercounts the fixed challenge header by 15 bytes. A short AUTH_RECEIVE buffer can pass the check before the challenge is copied past the end of its allocation. Use the typed challenge pointer when calculating the response size. CVE-2026-98703 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: minstrel_ht: validate fixed rate index The fixed_rate_idx debugfs file is a plain u32 attribute, so any value can be written to it. minstrel_ht_update_stats() then copies the value into mi->max_tp_rate[] and mi->max_prob_rate, and minstrel_ht_set_rate() uses MI_RATE_GROUP()/MI_RATE_IDX() to index minstrel_mcs_groups[] (42 entries) and mi->groups[].rates[] (10 entries) with it. Writing e.g. 65535 selects group 4095 and rate index 15, far outside both arrays. The out-of-bounds entries are dereferenced and updated as struct minstrel_rate_stats (retry counts, etc.), so the invalid index corrupts adjacent kernel memory. With CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS the access is reported as an array-index-out-of-bounds in minstrel_ht_set_rate(). Only a valid group/rate pair, or U32_MAX to disable fixed rate processing, can be used safely, so reject any other value when the debugfs file is written. The file is only reachable through a root-only debugfs mount, so this is not a privilege boundary. The out-of-bounds access is still a bug that must not be reachable through a writable debugfs attribute.
CVE-2026-98568 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vxlan: use one headroom snapshot for neighbour replies vxlan_na_create() samples LL_RESERVED_SPACE() to size the reply skb and then samples it again to reserve headroom. A concurrent vxlan_changelink() can update needed_headroom between the two reads, creating a TOCTOU race. The second value can exceed the allocation and make the Ethernet header write out of bounds. The race is reproducible on the unpatched kernel. It occurred when vxlan_na_create() generated a neighbour reply while vxlan_changelink() changed the link headroom. KASAN caught a four-byte write two bytes beyond a 704-byte skbuff_small_head allocation. Snapshot the headroom once and use that value for both allocation and reservation.
CVE-2026-98493 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipconfig: bound DHCP option construction ic_dhcp_init_options() appends the hostname (option 12), vendor-class (option 60) and client-ID (option 61) options into the fixed 312-byte bootp_pkt.exten[] buffer. Only the client-ID branch checked the remaining space; the hostname and vendor-class writes were unbounded. A 64-byte hostname together with the maximum 252-byte dhcpclass= identifier needs 18 + (2 + 64) + (2 + 252) = 338 of the 312 available bytes even before the terminating END marker, so the vendor-class memcpy runs past the end of exten[]. With CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE this is reported as a field-spanning write and, when the kernel is booted with panic_on_warn=1, aborts boot with a panic. Route the optional options through a common helper that makes sure the option, its 2-byte header and the END marker all fit and drops an option that would not. Configurations with short options keep sending exactly the same bytes as before.
CVE-2026-98456 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: mgmt: fix race in read_unconf_index_list() read_unconf_index_list() counts unconfigured controllers before allocating its response, then checks the device flags again while filling it. hci_dev_list_lock stabilizes list membership, but it does not serialize the per-device flags. During asynchronous controller setup, the worker can set HCI_UNCONFIGURED and clear HCI_SETUP between the two passes. A controller omitted from the allocation count can then become eligible for the fill pass, causing an out-of-bounds write to rp->index[]. Allocate space for every device on hci_dev_list. Since list membership cannot change while hci_dev_list_lock is held, the response remains large enough regardless of flag transitions. The reported count and response length still include only eligible unconfigured controllers.
CVE-2026-98265 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb-audio: Clamp implicit feedback packet count to URB capacity data_ep_set_params() allocates each data URB for exactly u->packets isochronous frames, so urb->iso_frame_desc[] has u->packets slots and ctx->packets is the driver's only record of that limit. For an implicit feedback sink, snd_usb_queue_pending_output_urbs() overwrites it with the sync source's packet count, which is calculated independently from the capture endpoint's parameters. When that count is larger, prepare_playback_urb() and prepare_silent_urb() can write iso_frame_desc[] past the allocation; their existing bounds limit payload bytes, not the descriptor index. The reproducer uses a high-speed UAC2 device declaring bInterval 1 for implicit feedback capture (8 packets) and bInterval 4 for playback (1 packet). On the first capture completion after the stream starts, it accesses seven descriptors spanning 112 bytes beyond the one-packet URB: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in prepare_playback_urb (sound/usb/pcm.c:1560) Write of size 4 at addr ffff88801e696ad0 by task vhci_rx/178 prepare_playback_urb (sound/usb/pcm.c:1560) prepare_outbound_urb (sound/usb/endpoint.c:340) snd_usb_queue_pending_output_urbs (sound/usb/endpoint.c:501) snd_complete_urb (sound/usb/endpoint.c:1834) __usb_hcd_giveback_urb (drivers/usb/core/hcd.c:1657) usb_hcd_giveback_urb (drivers/usb/core/hcd.c:1741) vhci_rx_loop (drivers/usb/usbip/vhci_rx.c:107) kthread (kernel/kthread.c:436) The buggy address belongs to the object at ffff88801e696a00 which belongs to the cache kmalloc-256 of size 256 The buggy address is located 0 bytes to the right of allocated 208-byte region [ffff88801e696a00, ffff88801e696ad0) Record the allocated packet count per endpoint and clamp both the adopted count and the packet-size copy to it. CVE-2026-97555 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix heap overflow in DACL owner/group rewrite When id_mode_to_cifs_acl rewrites an existing DACL, it allocates a buffer sized according to the on-disk DACL length reported by dacl_ptr->size. However, replace_sids_and_copy_aces may rewrite each ACE with a new owner/group SID obtained from the cifs.idmap upcall. Those SIDs can have up to SID_MAX_SUB_AUTHORITIES (15) sub-authorities, making each ACE up to 76 bytes (sizeof(struct smb_ace)). If the original DACL contains short SIDs (e.g., 1 sub-authority) while the replacement SIDs are long, the rewritten ACEs overflow the allocation. Fix this by always budgeting for worst-case SID expansion: allocate sizeof(struct smb_acl) plus num_aces * sizeof(struct smb_ace), which covers the smb_acl header and room for every ACE at maximum SID size. This replaces the previous split logic that used dacl_ptr->size for cifsacl mounts but num_aces * sizeof(struct smb_ace) for mode_from_sid mounts: both paths can trigger the same rewrite and need the same headroom. KASAN reports this as: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in build_sec_desc+0x1e8a/0x2680 [cifs] Write of size 4 at addr ffff8881a5e25374 by task chown/5298 ... CVE-2026-97535 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Bound VP index against VP_CTRL IOCB bitmap size The VP control IOCB selects its target virtual port by setting one bit in vp_idx_map, a fixed 16-byte (128-bit) array in both vp_ctrl_entry_24xx and vp_ctrl_entry_24xx_ext. qla25xx_ctrlvp_iocb() computes map = (vp_index - 1) / 8 and writes vce->vp_idx_map[map] without checking that map stays within the array. max_npiv_vports is taken from firmware and only sanitized to a MIN_MULTI_ID_FABRIC-aligned boundary, so it can legitimately be 191 or 255, and qla24xx_control_vp() only rejects vp_index >= max_npiv_vports. A vp_index above 128 therefore yields map >= 16 and an out-of-bounds write of up to 16 bytes past vp_idx_map, corrupting the trailing IOCB fields (or the adjacent request-ring slot on the 64-byte layout). Reject a vp_index that cannot be represented in the IOCB bitmap in qla24xx_control_vp(), and add a defensive ARRAY_SIZE() guard in qla25xx_ctrlvp_iocb() before the write. Adapters that report the usual 63 or 127 NPIV vports are unaffected.
CVE-2026-97518 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: reject duplicate wiphy cipher suite entries Duplicate entries in wiphy->cipher_suites do not describe any additional capability, but cfg80211 currently accepts them and leaves individual consumers to deal with them. One such consumer is the WEXT compatibility code, which appends a WEP key length for each WEP cipher entry it sees. Repeated WEP entries can therefore overflow the fixed iw_range::encoding_size array returned by SIOCGIWRANGE. Reject duplicate cipher suite entries in wiphy_register() instead. This keeps the cipher suite invariant in one place and makes malformed wiphy descriptions fail early with -EINVAL, rather than relying on a single cfg80211 user to handle duplicates correctly.
CVE-2026-97494 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: validate and share PSP fw_pri_buf copies via psp_copy_fw Change psp_copy_fw from void to int: return -ENODEV when drm_dev_enter fails, and -EINVAL when the image size is zero or larger than the 1 MiB PSP private buffer. Replace open-coded memset/memcpy into fw_pri_buf with psp_copy_fw.
CVE-2026-97493 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Bound GPIO I2C table entry count from VBIOS Reject undersized tables and cap the derived entry count to AMDGPU_MAX_I2C_BUS so we do not overrun adev->i2c_bus[] or walk an absurd number of entries on corrupt size fields.
CVE-2026-97425 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix buffer overflow during vBIOS update Clamp the buffer postion to write by setting the bin attribute to the maximum buffer size so that VFS layer will block the out-of-bounds accessing.
CVE-2026-93790 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: fix out-of-bounds tid_data access in BA notif mvmsta->tid_data was indexed by the TFD loop counter 'i' instead of the actual TID value 'tid'. This writes lq_color into a random tid_data slot unrelated to the BA entry. Since multi-TID blockack is not really in use, 'i' was always 0 and no harm was done. Add a out-of-bound check before accessing the array.
CVE-2026-89920 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: s390: Fix memory corruption by not reinjecting CK machine checks Channel-subsystem damage machine checks are for the host channel subsystem. The guest channel subsystem is emulated in the userspace VMM. There is no point in forwarding such machine checks into the guest. This also simplifies the machine check reinjection and avoids kfree of a stack variable as reported by sashiko. There might be still machine checks that have the ck bit set with another bit (like instruction damage), mask out the CK bit in s390_backup_mcck_info(), like the CP and ED bits already are.
CVE-2026-89834 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: fix to migrate all curseg types during free_segment_range In free_segment_range(), the curseg evacuation loop only iterates up to NR_CURSEG_PERSIST_TYPE (0..5), missing non-persistent in-memory curseg types such as CURSEG_COLD_DATA_PINNED and CURSEG_ALL_DATA_ATGC. Even though these in-memory curseg types are not saved in the on-disk checkpoint header, they still occupy active physical segments at runtime. If an active in-memory curseg happens to be allocated within the segment range being truncated during filesystem shrink, failing to evacuate it will cause subsequent writes to the curseg attempting out-of-bounds I/O on the truncated storage range. Fix this by expanding the curseg evacuation loop upper bound to NR_CURSEG_TYPE to ensure all active curseg types are safely migrated out of the target range.
CVE-2026-89761 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix out-of-bounds write when null terminating a label vec aa_vec_unique() null terminates at vec[n - dups] when VEC_FLAG_TERMINATE is passed. If the components are all distinct no duplicates are dropped, dups is 0 and the terminator goes to vec[n], so the caller has to provide room for n + 1 entries. aa_label_strn_parse() sets up its vector with vec_setup(profile, vec, len, gfp) and then calls aa_vec_unique(vec, len, VEC_FLAG_TERMINATE), but vec_setup() does not reserve the terminator entry. Up to LOCAL_VEC_ENTRIES it uses the local array of LOCAL_VEC_ENTRIES pointers, above that it allocates exactly len pointers. The terminator therefore lands one entry past the end of the local array when len is LOCAL_VEC_ENTRIES, and one entry past the end of the allocation when len is larger. len comes from the number of "//&" separated components in the label name and label_count_strn_entries() does not bound it. An unprivileged task reaches the parse by writing to /proc/self/attr/apparmor/current or through lsm_set_self_attr(2), both of which go through do_setattr(), and the name is parsed before the change_profile permission is checked. The query_label() path behind the securityfs .access file, which is mode 0666, performs no permission check at all. Every component has to resolve to a loaded profile, so a system with policy loaded is required. The other two VEC_FLAG_TERMINATE users work on a label vec that aa_label_alloc() has already sized with "+ 1 for null terminator entry on vec". Reserve the same entry in vec_setup() and DEFINE_VEC(). Passing len + 1 from the caller instead would move len == LOCAL_VEC_ENTRIES out of the local array and into kzalloc().
CVE-2026-89702 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: size fh_verify server sockaddr slot by xpt_locallen The nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err tracepoints declare the server sockaddr slot sized by xpt_remotelen but fill it from xpt_local using xpt_locallen: TP_STRUCT__entry( ... __sockaddr(server, rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_remotelen) ... ) TP_fast_assign( ... __assign_sockaddr(server, &rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_local, rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_locallen); ... ) When xpt_locallen exceeds xpt_remotelen, __assign_sockaddr's memcpy writes past the reserved ring-buffer slot. In the reverse direction (xpt_locallen < xpt_remotelen) the slot is oversized and the unwritten tail leaks prior ring-buffer contents to trace consumers. The write-past-end case is reachable on NFS/UDP. svc_xprt_set_remote() is only called from svc_tcp_accept() (net/sunrpc/svcsock.c) and from the RDMA connect path; svc_create_socket() for UDP calls only svc_xprt_set_local(), so xpt_remotelen stays 0 for the xprt's lifetime. Every fh_verify trace for an NFSv2/v3-over-UDP request then copies 16 or 28 bytes from xpt_local into a zero-byte slot. The other NFSD tracepoints that record the server address (NFSD_TRACE_PROC_CALL_FIELDS, NFSD_TRACE_PROC_RES_FIELDS, SVC_RQST_ENDPOINT_FIELDS) already size the server slot by xpt_locallen; nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err were the only exceptions. Fix by sizing the server slot with xpt_locallen so the declared slot matches the copy length. The client slot and its assignment already agree on xpt_remotelen and are left untouched.
CVE-2026-89640 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: fix loff_t underflow in cifs_remap_file_range() when len == 0 With len == 0 (clone to EOF), the effective length is computed as: len = src_inode->i_size - off; If off > i_size, this is a negative loff_t, corrupting the ByteCount in the FSCTL_DUPLICATE_EXTENTS_TO_FILE request and inverting the range in filemap_write_and_wait_range(). The existing off >= i_size check fires only after the ioctl has already been sent. Snapshot i_size_read() once for both the bounds check and the length calculation, eliminating the TOCTOU and 32-bit torn-read risk. Reject off > src_size with -EINVAL. Treat off == src_size as a no-op, consistent with __generic_remap_file_range_prep().
